Tom Chambers - Moderator

Prior to joining Westervelt Communities as Vice President, Tom Chambers owned a construction management business. He is responsible for developing and maintaining healthy business relationships in residential and commercial real estate. His progressive approach to management and marketing ensures a high degree of integrity and collaboration is present in his business transactions. Tom is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Tuscaloosa Home Builder’s Association, and the National Association of Realtors. He is also the 2012 Vice Chariman of ACRE. 

Brock Corder

Brock Corder is a Tuscaloosa native, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (2000) and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 2002. In late 2005, Brock partnered with Lynn Corder and Wendell Barton to form Builders Group Development, which is the development arm of The Builders Group of West Alabama. Today is responsible for overseeing all aspects of its home building, remodeling, investments, and development. In 2011, Brock was recognized by his peers as the Builder of the Year. Under Brock’s leadership, The Builders Group has been ranked among the Top 250 homebuilders in the nation three times, has been recognized on both a local and state level for its homebuilding and remodeling projects, and has grown to be the largest builder in the West Alabama area.  Having constructed over 800 homes, The Builders Group, has many customers and neighbors in the Tuscaloosa area. Brock recently achieved the Certified Graduate Builder designation through the NAHB, and also holds his Real Estate Brokers license.

Nancy Morton

Nancy Morton joined Capstone Bank as Senior Vice President and mortgage division manager with more than 25 years in the industry. Nancy’s leadership roles have included retail sales, marketing, operations, training, product development and underwriting. Beginning her mortgage banking career with Hancock Bank in Mississippi, she served in senior management positions in Alabama with Regions, SouthTrust, Wachovia and Cadence.

Nancy and her husband, Max Morton, Jr., a native of Tuscaloosa, have two sons – graduates of the University of Alabama. She is passionate about the growth and future of the Tuscaloosa market.

Phillip Kinard

Phillip, a life-long resident of Tuscaloosa, graduated from Holt High School in 1975.

Phillip began his career in the single family home industry November of 1987 while working full time with Hunt Refining Oil Company until 1993.  He started his business initially through single family home investments; buying, renovating and selling or renting the homes.  Phillip started his new home construction business in January of 1994 and has constructed over 800 homes, renovated approximately 500, and has a current rental portfolio of 200 single family homes. 

As a member of the local Home Builders Association of Tuscaloosa, Inc., Phillip currently serves as the 2012 President.  In addition to his duties as President, Phillip recently finished the construction and sale of the first HBAT Tuscaloosa Build Back Project House 2012.  He also serves on the Codes and Standards Sub Committee and the Green Building Sub Committee of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, DC.

While managing his investment property and construction businesses, Phillip also finds time to manage GFG Fitness, LLC, a joint ownership with his two beautiful daughters (who also work in the family real estate business).

Donna Petty

Donna has been a Real Estate Professional with Hamner Real Estate Inc since 1984. She holds  BA and Masters degrees from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the University of Alabama Cheerleader Alumni, Mortar Board Alumni, U of A President's  Cabinet, Phi Mu Alumni Associations. Donna has been a Top Producing Agent during her entire career and has also served on many Boards and Committees for the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors. She is presently serving on the West Alabama Multiple Listing Board for her third term and is Chairman of the Grievance Committee and of the Contract Task Force. At the State Level, she has served as a State Director and a member of several committees. Donna also enjoys teaching Continuing Education classes for her peers. Community involvement includes Nick's Kids Core Group, Temporary Emergency Services, Chamber of Commerce activities plus more. Donna is the recipient of the  Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors "Realtor of the Year 2012" award.
